" 3 Twitter Tools .. To Manage, Monitor and Analyze The Stream "

Twitter applications and tools have emerged as it has started to go mainstream. Because Twitter is a live stream of information links and updates, the importance of filtering out what you want from this constant passing feed of  data becomes crucial.

Some of the tools that I am currently using are: Tweet3, Tweetlater and TweetDeck.

  • Tweetlater: This allows you to set tweets to be sent while you sleep,working or otherwise occupied, measure how many people have clicked on your links and from where from the link embedded in the the Tweet. It also can be set to automatically follow back those who follow you and other interesting features.

 

  •        Tweetdeck: This is a twitter tool that allows you to filter a lot of the live streams that pass your screen in real time and it has the following features
    • Lets me update my Facebook as well as do a tweet in one convenient location
    • I can also shorten a URL and send it with the Tweet and the Facebook update
    • Create Groups that I can track, like Social Media “Gurus”, Top Bloggers and Friends in an easy to view column format
    • It provides a feed from my Facebook page so I can see what is happening with my friends on Facebook
    • I can retweet from within Tweetdeck
    • I can update my favourites
    • Send a direct message
    • Add Twitpics to my Tweets
    • You can even email the tweet from TweetDeck

Note:  A New version has recently come out and it is certainly worth playing with

  •    Tweet3: This Twitter Application doesn’t seem to have got much media attention but it has some really unique features and I find it really easy to use. It allows you to tweet from one or   multiple  twitter accounts by just clicking on a button. It also interfaces to Facebook if you want to update your Facebook from the app. The really fun feature is that it has an analytics feature that allows you to measure and monitor how many people have clicked on your URL that you have embedded with your Tweet and its unique feature is that it shows a map of the world that allows you to see where the location of that click through has happened by city and quantities.

    I tried out tweetdeck and hootsuite and hootsuite won. I think it gives a much better general view of my accounts and that its easier to use. I am not one to use a lot of time on getting to grasp the different functions in a tool and hootsuite is just appealing to me intuitively. you can send out from more than one

    Hootsuite has the different accounts, you can send the samme tweet from multiple accounts and it includes analytics.

    But I like new inspiration and I’m going to check out tweetlater

    First of all many thanks for all your posts, I am learning a lot from them!So please all my respects to you with my comments.

    I have already signed up on Tweetdeck and I think this app is going to be very interesting for me, thank you very much.

    On the other hand, I have found a couple of problems:

    * Tweetlater is no longer called like that, now it seems to be called http://www.socialoomph.com is this really the same you were mentioning before?
    * Tweet3 –> The Tweet3 Twitter client is no longer available, is this

    I originally began using Hootsuite more than a year ago because it allow the user to schedule tweets in the future. Since that time, many upgrades have been implemented that make the tool even better. It now interfaces with multiple Twitter accounts, Facebook profiles and pages, as well as LinkedIn and others. Thus, it is possible to update your primary social media networks all at once. Analytics are also available for tracking effectiveness of your efforts. And there are apps for use on smart phones so you can check-in as well as make status updates on the go. Overall, I’m very pleased with the service. Hope this is helpful!

    I tend to use HootSuite. I am disappointed that I can’t seem to get the LinkedIn stream on the iPad and iPhone, though (it is available in the browser version).

    I have used hootsuite for well over a year, by the way they basically do everything in one tool that is listed in this post, not to mention tweet3 is no longer around. They have just launched their more enhanced social analytics as well. It is not a complete picture, but for a small fee you can get access to more info than most free tools. If you are still looking for bigger picture SCRM- I have been demoing & my top 3 paid SCRM products so far are Radian6, Shoutlet, & Meltwater Buzz for social media monitoring, tracking, widgets, etc.
