I was originally inspired by Conquent’s President, Michael Bissell – http://michael.bissell.conquent.com/. Conquent is the first company I’d seen incorporate  individual blogs for their top leaders onto their corporate website. He’s also the first to carve his own niche rather than attempt to compete in a specific market…a trend I’m only just now starting to hear discussed online.

Lately I’ve also been reading Scott Addis with Beyond Insurance – another Corporate Philosopher with innovative business methods. Without blogging how would I have even known there was such an innovator in the insurance industry – normally a very conservative group. I’ve actually introduced new ideas at my own company that I learned by paying close attention to his online blogging and articles.

Author Scott Berkun has also been an inspiration to me. I’ve started reading his books as a result of his blogging…great marketing tool for him and an opportunity for me to become familiar with a writer before investing in his work. He can be found at http://www.scottberkun.com/.

I’m getting more professionally from bloggers than I did from university! Things are changing so fast. If you’re not listening to the online chatter, you’re going to get left behind.
