7 Reasons To Use Social Media To Grow Your Business

Its been a year of learning and I just have to share this great online video about the numbers, facts and figures on Social Media that have got me excited in 2009 about growing your business with some assistance from “Social Media Marketing”.

Here are some of the facts and figures to start you thinking and may give you reason to use Social Media to enhance and optimize your companies marketing online.

  1. 300,000 Businesses have a presence on Facebook
  2. Gary Vaynerchuk grew his family business from $4 Million to $50 Million on Social Media in 3 years
  3. Company sales with the highest social media activity increased their sales by 18% +
  4. Company sales with the least social media activity  reduced their sales by -6%
  5. Lenovo the computer company achieved 20% reduction in call center activity as customers go to a community website
  6. BK Whopper Facebook App produced a $400,000 Return for a $50,000 Investment including 32 Million free media impressions (that is like reaching the combined population of 19 states of the USA)
  7. BlendTec increased sales by 400% with a YouTube online video

    First off, love the blog. Great resource with some great articles. I got you in my RSS and enjoy the new content. As for this article, I was expecting something a little different. I think these are 7 great “food for thought” reasons, but realistically most businesses aren’t going to get these types of results. Most companies don’t have money to develop apps, and most companies aren’t going to increase revenue in the millions because they get on social media. I’m sure you have an article out there now, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on more basic reasons to start becoming active on social networks ie, generate sales leads, establish relationships, etc.
