LOL! As usual Jeff, another post that made me smile. Makes you wonder what some people are thinking. Or if they are thinking at all. :-)

A fairy outfit!! LOL That is too funny!! I do feel that our youth is at a huge disadvantage because their mistakes can ruin their lives and ours! You tube makes it too easy to upload videos and everything on Twitter can be googled!! All our conversations are saved!! It is crazy what people will tweet! I don’t have facebook but the “Ad” scam they are running is crazy and not ok! What a bummer! Thanks for your work!

    Hi Jeff,
Great way to start my day! I love #2. I also notice 2 of the 10 cite someone from WI. No wonder we get a bad reputation around here. :)
    Thanks for sharing.

    Jeff,

Thanks for highlighting my post from last summer about the Facebook Dating Ads snafu. Of course, since I wrote that post, Facebook has changed their Terms of Service. Privacy settings have also changed significantly.

Facebook uers everywhere (especially parents of teens) should be intentional about checking privacy settings on a consistent basis. This is all the more important since Facebook has added “Places.”

Good article, lots of fun, and great tips on your site!

This did make me smile. These are pretty obvious no-no’s. It makes me shudder to think people post this sort of thing online! Social media has been around and relevant to business for a long time now… common sense, people, and all will be well.

Funny article. Just another instance of HOW stupid people can be, but greater and not so humorous allusions to our near=total lack of privacy.

Hmmm. This story says “written by jeffbulas” but it’s a mere copypaste of Taylor Buley’s article. Jeff, you should give credit when credit is due; just adding “Source: forbes.com” is not enough in my opinion.
Besides these stories date back to 2008 or 2009…
Your blog is interesting most of the time, but I would call this a faux-pas…

      Couldn’t agree more with you.

Nice post Jeff… some funny examples there – i especially like Number 9 – Fairy Tales… i wonder how many people have been caught out like that!
I think it is really important for people to understand what NOT to do just as much if not more that what to do.  If you get it wrong social media can really come and bite you in the backside and, as a business damage, your online presence and brand reputation drastically.I too have recently focused on expressing my thoughts on Social Media mistakes in one of my first ever blogs posts.  I’d appreciate it if you could take a look and provide feedback on it, if you have time: http://www.eclipse-creative.co.uk/2011/09/12-social-media-mistakes/Thanks again for article.Regards, Drew

Reading this article you can just see how many people around the world lack common sense and also how easy it is to ruin one’s reputation with all the advances of online communication.
    Great read thanks!

Flight attendant loses job for posting a sexy photo on her Facebook account – apparently, that’s not allowed in their industry.
