Love it Jeff! It makes perfect sense that Twitter buzz is an indicator of things to come. After all, Twitter is a microcosm of our world, a small glimpse of what our planet’s human inhabitants are thinking at any given moment. Great post.

People have now begun to rely upon social media to find out news and other information about what is going on. Mainstream media has become too corrupt and too one-sided. People want information and want to decide for themselves! All the more reason why they should be given just the facts and do with the information as they wish.

Twitter definitely can help predict what’s going on based on trends so it makes prefect sense that it would be beneficial in predicting what movies will do well!

Seems that twitter may be able to predict stock markets – new research from Indiana University-Bloomington shows the mood of tweets can predict how the Dow Jones Industrial Average will move by almost 90% accuracy up to six days ahead of time.

This is a good post and comments are good, too. For me it is no longer the case that I look at only such mega-predictions once in a blue moon but rather I see & leverage these kind of predictions dozens of times each day. With a tool like TipTop http://FeelTipTop.com I can see instantly what folks think about anything whatsoever. What could be better?

It’s all predictive analytics…or perhaps will be.  The question is when, not if, the algorithms to cull the data are going to be developed and sharpened to produce accurate results.  The political and financial arenas will be fun to watch as they adapt…  Crowdsourcing on stock purchases?  wow!
