Images work because humans are visual creatures. This is why Pinterest is generating a lot of traffic and why photo posts work well on Facebook.

Thanks for the comment Russell. The high speed internet and the tools to easily upload the images are facilitating the trend

    Totally agree

you can test this easily, just upload images onto Facebook,
and see how many likes you get, compared to when you update a text post.

Images can help your brand stand out.  Incorporating an image into a blog post is important, because that image will show when you share the link in social media.  A link with an image will get much more attention than one without.

I agree with you  Christine. The popularity of Pinterest has increased the power of images and videos in blog posts. I am encouraging web design clients to add more photos, and I am  starting to add the Pinterest “Pin It” button into my clients sites.

Images are essential for both search and social media marketing with
growing popularity as a social media asset. Long time image hosting and
social network Flickr hosts well over 50 billion images and social media
image sharing services like Instagram and Pintrest have exploded in
    popularity

Images are one big thing that will have to consider in seo, for example when you have to post blogs on blog directories, you should have to include a very attractive image which is clickable with internal links pointing to your website. people are mostly attracted at the images in some usual blogs.

I couldn’t have said it better myself! I have been sharing an image with every status update for weeks… and I have had a 100% return on my efforts. Whether I get one comment, or one hundred… EVERY image I share gets some traction. It works. I didn’t think it would, but am glad that it does. It’s why Pinterest works. Just look at this image and tell me you don’t want to comment and pin these images!

    Thanks for the blog.

Yes, yes, yes. I totally agree with your insights! Pictures can give your readers curiosity about what you’re selling, and this might make them interested if the pictures are attractive. Besides that, this can also give your brand its credibility and stand out from other competitions.
