Step 1: Generate Your Video Script with ChatGPT
- Start by opening ChatGPT.
- Prompt it with a request for your video script, specifying the style, length, and subject matter. For instance, you could prompt: “write a script in the style of a YouTube video about how to make an apple pie. The video should be under 60 seconds long. The script should feel friendly in nature”.
- ChatGPT can quickly spit out a script in seconds that can be “pretty damn good”. Once you have your “masterpiece,” copy it.
Step 2: Create the Initial Video with an AI Avatar and Voiceprint Using Synthesia
- Open Synthesia.
- Create a new video and select your chosen AI avatar, which can even be a custom one you’ve made.
- Upload a background image for your video and adjust your avatar’s position and size within the frame.
- Utilise your custom voiceprint within Synthesia, which allows the software to convert your script text into your own voice.
- Paste the script generated by ChatGPT into Synthesia.
- Click “Generate” and wait a few minutes for the video to be processed.
Step 3: Enhance the Video with B-roll Using Descript
- To improve the video and take the emphasis off the AI avatar, download the video from Synthesia.
- Open Descript and upload your newly downloaded video.
- Descript will automatically transcribe your video back into text.
- You can then highlight specific moments in the transcribed text that you wish to visualise.
- Head into Descript’s “footage tab,” type in a relevant search term (e.g., “apple pie” for the line “how to make a delicious apple pie”), and select suitable stock footage clips.
- Continue this process, adding nice-looking stock footage clips for other lines in your video.
Step 4: Export Your Final AI-Generated Video
- Once you’re done adding all your desired B-roll footage in Descript, simply hit “Export”.
