FAQ
MemberOur team is trying to figure out the best way to approach Threads for our brand’s Instagram presence, and honestly, we’re a bit stuck on the strategy. We’re already active with Reels, Stories, and feed posts, and we don’t want Threads to just be another channel we’re posting to without a clear purpose.
We’re debating what the content should even be. Should we just repurpose our tweets? Should the tone of voice be more casual and conversational than our main Instagram profile? And most importantly, how do we use Threads to actually support our main goal of driving traffic and sales?
I’m curious to hear how others are integrating it. Is it a top-of-funnel conversation starter, a community-building tool, or something else? Just looking for a clear framework on where it should fit.

KeymasterThinking about how these platforms integrate instead of treating them as separate silos is the right way to approach this.
Short Answer: Use Instagram for your polished visual content like images and videos, and use Threads for the timely, text-based conversations and commentary that add context to that content.
The most effective strategy is to use your text-first content on Threads to start conversations that drive interest back to your more polished video and image assets on your main Instagram profile.
The simplest way to organise your strategy is to think of it like this: Instagram is your art gallery, and Threads is the artist’s commentary. Your Instagram profile is where you showcase your best, most visually appealing content. Threads is where you discuss the process, share quick thoughts, ask questions, and engage in the real-time conversations that don’t fit into a curated feed.
Don’t just repurpose your tweets. The tone on Threads is more connected to the Instagram ecosystem. Use it to add depth to your visual content. For example, after posting a new Reel, you can start a Threads conversation about the biggest challenge you faced while making it. This drives traffic back to the Reel and deepens your community’s connection to your work. The primary return on investment from Threads isn’t direct sales; it’s building a highly engaged community, which is a powerful top-of-funnel asset.
Cheers,
Jeff
