Hey,
I’m looking at the official Giveaway feature in Telegram. I get how it works—you buy Premium subscriptions and the channel gives them away to random members—but I’m trying to figure out the best strategy for it.

Is it just a blunt instrument for getting a quick spike in subscribers? Or is there a smarter way to use it?

Create a high-quality image or a short, energetic video that clearly explains the prize, the number of winners, and the end date. This visual content is what will grab the initial attention. Secondly, you need to build anticipation leading up to the draw. Use a series of countdown images or post short, reminder text messages. You can also leverage interactive formats by running a text-based poll asking your members what they are most excited about. Thirdly, and most critically for retention, is the follow-up. Announce the winners using a personal format, such as a round video message or a congratulatory audio note, rather than a cold text list. Immediately after the giveaway concludes, you must post a piece of high-value content, like an exclusive video or a detailed text guide, to prove the channel’s worth to all the new members who may have only joined for the prize.
