FAQ
MemberI’ve been thinking about trying to collaborate with another creator in my niche (I do food/recipe videos). I’ve seen it work really well for others and I think it would be a great way to grow and get some new ideas, but I have no clue where to start.
How do you find people who are at a similar follower level and are likely to be interested? Is it just a matter of scrolling hashtags and sending a DM? And what do you even say? I’m worried about coming across as unprofessional or awkward. Do you pitch a specific video idea right away, or just say you’re interested in working together?
Would love to hear how you’ve all handled this. Cheers.

KeymasterCollaborating is one of the best growth accelerators on the platform.
The Short Answer: The best way is to identify creators of a similar size, genuinely engage with their content first, and then send a professional pitch that clearly outlines the mutual benefit.
The goal of your outreach is to start a professional relationship, not just to ask for a favour.
There is a clear, professional process for this. Your first step is to identify potential partners by searching relevant hashtags and looking at who your audience already follows. You should focus exclusively on creators who are in the same niche and have a similar follower count to your own, as this makes for a partnership of equals. The second and most critical step is the warm-up; you must not send a cold message. Instead, spend at least a week engaging with their content by leaving genuine, thoughtful comments to build familiarity. Only then should you proceed to the third step, which is the pitch. Your pitch should be concise, professional, and clearly explain why a collaboration would benefit their audience. You should always include a specific, yet simple, video idea to show you have put thought into it, but also mention that you are open to their suggestions. This shows respect for their creative input and positions the collaboration as a true partnership.
Cheers,
Jeff
