Thanks for the article, Jeff, I’m sure the YouTube newbies will really appreciate and benefit from it! Do you have any blog posts or websites you would recommend for building out your YouTube channel? I think too often people forget that YouTube, besides being a video hosting site and search engine, is also a social network and should be treated as such. Which means that you should focus on making relevant and useful connections, same as you would on Twitter or FB. Any articles you can point out or reference would be much appreciated!

    Hi there!

I am extremely interested in using Youtube & Slideshare presentations to boast visibility during Google searches.

Have any ideas on that?  My youtube? http://www.youtube.com/MadelineHere

And check out a Slideshare I implant a youtube video in – so I wind up with movement and SOUND

I liked creating something fun AND informative like my retro piece https://bitly.com/3Hooks

I am shooting to come up on page one on the search for Persuasive Presentations.  Now – this is a brand new project – no website up even.

Wondering if you know more sites that will take the Youtube URL to share? (Vodpod is one…)
And what about Slideshare? And of those?

I have started a Group on LInkedin called “Persuasive Presentations” – I invite anyone who is interested in the mediums to join.

Someone I know is doing something with Craigslist to get on page one of his searches I believe – but he’s not telling how…

We built a tool to simplify the promotion step – the tool promotes everyone fairly so you don’t need to be popular (already) to get noticed.

Great article! I just wanted to say this post is right on the money.
Apps are difficult to market, and games specifically have there own
challenges. Video is definitely one of the best tools to get started
with, and search engines love video. Most apps need explanation with a
voice over, but most games dont, so you really need to present the game
play in an enticing way and keep it short. You can make one yourself
easily with your developer tool and a decent screen recorder. It takes
some time but its well worth it. You could also just pay somebody to do
it. I personally have used blue fortress media to make mine, but I know
there are other good ones like appvj, wyzowl, and demo fuck. Either way
good luck to you! And once again great article.
