10 Top Small Business Facebook Page Designs to Inspire You

Facebook pages is the place where a lot of inspiring  innovation, marketing and design is happening on the social web.10 Top Small Business Facebook Page Designs to Inspire You

Major brands are often worth checking out as they can wow you with the the latest in innovation such as Facebook stores, inspiring embedded videos and designs that look like they cost a fortune. If you want to obtain some good ideas it is a good business practice to emulate elements of the most popular Facebook pages in the world such as Lady Gaga or one of the top company Facebook pages StarBucks.

Most companies think they don’t have the budgets and resources to take it to that level.

Some smaller companies who have realised the importance of a Facebook page as an extension of their website and blog  are also providing great examples of what can be done on Facebook without big budgets.

Social Media Examiner is running a competition for the best Facebook pages for small business so I thought it would be worth taking a closer look at some of the finalists.

Keep in mind that design is not just how a Facebook page “looks’ it goes much deeper than that it is also how “it works”

Kinda tearing up here! What a surprise! This is the first time my design work has ever made a post like this. Since I do all of it myself, this really means so much to me. I’m just super delighted that you included my page Jeff! Thank you!

      Hello Kelly,

I really love your facebook page – did you engage a designer to create the left hand side banner and the welcome page. I need to do a similar thing and just wanted to know how you made it all look so pretty? I have a limited budget.

I’d like to know how make those big ole landing pages like that!!!

      • http://jeffbullas.com Jeff Bullas

You can get them already built into a WordPress Theme. One that does it is Optimize Press

      • http://EasyLunchboxes.com Kelly Lester (Easy Lunchboxes)

Hi Rebecca – Do you mean the big images when you click on the tabs on my FB page??? Those are powered (?) by WooBox (free!). First I make an image (810 pixels wide with variable height), then I use image mapping software so links on them will be clickable (I use CoffeeCup but there are free alternatives) and then I copy and paste the HTML of the image map into the tab on Facebook. Hope that makes a little bit of sense!

Many of these pages incorporate paid 3rd party software (as required by FB) whereby liking their page constitutes entry into a promotional contest/giveaway of one sort or another.  Does anyone have some input/insight for which of these 3rd party outfits is least expensive for a business hoping to attract a small niche audience (which in my case a vacation villa in the BVI – link is below)?

I think this is a good post.  However, I really detest the sites that force you to “like” them in order to get further into the page.  It’s a very weak method of gaining likes.  If the content is good, that is all that’s needed.  Instead, these pages have a large number of people who “like” them who just ignore the vast majority of updates/emails/whatever that the page owner sends out.

I’ve personally made a commitment to myself to never like a page unless I can do it on my own – because I want to like them. If I’m being forced, I’m moving on, no matter how good the content or offer looks.
