I just love the way social media enables us to connect with people all over the world (and stay in touch).
Also, when a business uses it successful it’s a joy. I guess I’m in it for the ride, the adventure, to see where it all leads and to be part of something which is so defining for this age.

I use it to find the truth. No seriously, with advertising claims promising the moon, social media makes it easy to sort through the good and bad.

Communicate and Learn are huge for me. I enjoy spreading the word about things I find fascinating and important, which is where ‘Make a Difference’ comes in. If we each chose a non-profit to promote once in a while, just imagine the impact!

No doubt that social media has changed almost everything in today’s world. However, it is almost ironical that you are quoting Apple with Steve Jobs, because Apple is one of the few very large and successful companies that don’t use social media – they don’t have any official social profile, neither on Facebook nor Twitter. But if you think about it, why should they..? They have very successful business even without social media – they prosper without it. Just a thing to think about…

It is indeed ironic and it also highlights that social media is a not a panacea but a medium that amplifies your marketing and publishing.

Great article Jeff. I think social media has brought social back in our lives. Childhood friends, school reunions, common interest communities…and you don’t need prior appointments to connect and converse. As regards making a difference, I am now experimenting with using social media for promoting community projects of our local Rotary club
