Five People Rocking Vine with Great Video Content

Vine, the Twitter-owned ‘Instagram of video’ application that allows users to capture short, six-second long videos and stop-frame animations, has opened up a whole new vehicle for creativity.5 People Rocking Vine with Great Video Content

Try these new AI-powered tools:

  • Jasper.ai is an AI content tool that ensures your brand's tone is maintained in your content creation.

As the web continues to evolve into a social and visual medium the challenge for business is how to adapt their content to take advantage of these developments. Everyone is grappling with media formats including radio on demand (podcasting), text, images, YouTube and now 6 second video snippets.

While marketers are yet to discover the magic sauce that makes vines take off in the public imagination, there are some early inspiring leaders on the fledgling social network.

Here, we’ll take a look at five of them and investigate what makes their vines so special.

1. Khoa

23-year-old Khoa Phan uses vine to create jaw-dropping stop-motion animations, like this one of a dancing ‘paperman’. Khoa occasionally shares behind-the-scenes vines, which other Vine users can learn from to improve their own creations, and he tries his best to re-use paper where he can during production. And, to top it all off, he has the humility to frequently wish his followers a ‘nice day’ inside his vines.

2. Will Sasso

Will Sasso is a comedian who understands the potential of Vine as a vehicle for comedy. Noteable for his lemon mini-series, which is better to watch than to read about, he’s also received acclaim for his series of Arnold Schwarzenegger Driving skits. Compilations of both have been viewed millions of times on YouTube, too.

3. Matt Swinsky

Matt has used Vine to create his own subgenre of horror, based around the horrific, Leather-face like character of Lazer. Matt’s videos are often sinister, with well-planned audio that complements the video, whether it’s a Metallica song or just the eerie noise of an abandoned car-park. He also won the ‘genre’ category at Tribecca Film Festival’s #6SecFilm Vine Competition, with ‘#LazerAndDonald Close Shave’.

4.  Animate and Create

As you might be able to guess from the name, Animate and Create is an animation studio which specialises in stop motion videos – sounds like Vine is the perfect app for them, then!  they’ve recently stepped down their activity, presumably because of the amount of time that it takes to create a masterpiece, it’s still worth giving them a follow for some inspiration.

5. Jeremy Cabalona

Jeremy is a community producer at Mashable, the popular web and tech news website, and so it makes sense that he’d be quick to sign up for the new platform. However, his vines are genuinely entertaining and guaranteed to put a smile on your face, and he has the advantage of being in regular contact with internet superstars like Grumpy Cat, who occasionally swing by the Mashable office and appear in his vines.

Like any creative platform, Vine is only as powerful as the people who opt to use it. While it’s yet to become a mainstream tool, a true ‘Instagram of video’, Vine is showing early promise and there are already early leaders in the field.

Learn lessons from the most successful Vine users and you’ll quickly start to make a reputation of your own on the video-based social network.
