It’s interesting that Vin Diesel has more fans than the President. I was also suprised that two games, Texas Hold’em & Mafia Wars were in the top 20. I can see how the big “Play Now” button makes it very user friendly and maybe the best way for a user to access the games, especially if they are already logged into Facebook.

interesting article.call to actions is a vital element in any facebook page, i have been priviledge to design facebook pages for clients such as P&G, hennessy in nigeria. on a lighter note, jeff i realised my profile pix came up on the coca-cola page as part 6 of 25 friends that like the page… hehehe

You’ve inspired me for a blog post: “What do your Facebook ads say about you?” We’re gonna have a little fun in the office with that topic today.

Thanks, this is a really interesting article with some valuable lessons on including calls to actions and on being topical!

Nice collection Jeff! I agree with you that social media marketing success lies in it’s integration with traditional Mass media marketing. Because social media is a tool for marketing. It cannot be separated from traditional marketing efforts. They have to compliment each other.

    • Dropdead_k

Hi Harman. I think its the opposite where traditional marketing is integrating with social media marketing to attain success. If you would have used traditional mass media marketing i am sure it wouldn’t have got half the response as what you see with the social media. The world’s turning digital in every aspect and Social Media is BIG and in time i guess we would see the traditional marketing fading away.

Wow that’s really impressive as much as it is unexpected!we should create a peace on earth page and see what happens there ;)

  • Laura

    Interesting list. Thanks!

FYI, there hasn’t been a Twilight saga TV series. If you’re referring to The Vampire Diaries, that is a seperate series of books, that are actually older than the Twilight books.

Some interesting pages in here, certainly some which I wouldn’t have suspected to be in the top 20. I mean, surely Vin Diesel’s Facebook page is more popular than his career as a whole?!

Has to say that its delightful to follow his own updating, puts a smile on my face often. Not that many celebs do it themselves. And for the record, the followers list is a bit out of date, since 12th Sept the figure was 27,5 mil….

This information seems dated…my recent check has Linkin park at 31m and lady gaga at 39m?

The notion of ‘Fans’ or even ‘Likes ‘ should be replaced or expanded to ‘Followers’ or better still ‘People who have an interest in.

Personally I follow, like, fan & even Friend people, pages & companies just so I can see what they are saying & doing and then comment. Which isn’t possible without ‘Liking’ them first. I have even been known to ‘Like’ companies just for the purpose of complaining about their poor service or product. In these instances I’m neither a ‘Fan’ or a ‘Liker’, merely a commenter.

    Food for thought…

It was suprising to see Vin Diesal’s page in the top ten. Also the only movie star.  Interesting  stats. Thanks
