Nice post Jeff! Always useful with some new perspectives on what kind of Facebook content that really do the work.

Jeff, I’d say your posts are the most informative and actionable of those i’ve found across the web. You are plain spoken in a good way. I get weary of so many of the “social media gurus” that we see out there. You never fail to disappoint. Keep it up. Thanks. You’ve inspired me to release my newest recording………and ask for “likes” in exchange for a listen.
    Take care, Kevin

I chose to treat my company’s Facebook page as a different animal compared to our other social media presence points (Twitter, blog, Youtube etc).
Since Facebook is kind of a unique platform, it’s mandatory to treat it in a unique way, not merely duplicating your content in there as well but choosing what to post related to the fans you want to attract there. For example, my company’s fans show a specific demographic we can target in ways different than in other media. Another case where stats and data has to be examined carefully to maximize the results you want to obtain from a specific campaign/initiative.

I was wondering how I could use the the new Questions feature. I had seen people using it but thought it was an app. It took me a minute to realize it’s available in the status area. Thanks for the tips!

I’m curious how companies like your Saks Fifth Avenue example are faring by offering exclusive content if you “like” their Facebook page. What are some notable underwhelming campaigns and which are the ones that really work? Is there a common thread?

    I second that.

    Thanks Jeff

thanks jeff but as a charity organization, we do find it little hard to get our fans engaged in conversation even though we do enjoy good respect and capital in the state

Hi John, you can still set up gated landing pages, but you can no longer set them as the default landing page. Organic traffic will all go to your Timeline. If you want to direct traffic to a specific app/landing page, you need to give users the specific URL for that page. I’d assume that going forward, this will mean more businesses using apps to host short term promotions and campaigns, wuth the Timeline being the ongoing hub for the page.

    Hope that helps
