The challenge is often getting out of your head. The art of structuring takes time and patience and a lot of massaging. Often it looks ugly at the beginning but if you persist in wrangling and editing it will become a thing of beauty. That is hard to see when you start the process!

The challenge looks like “just starting”. Hint. Just start and don’t wait for perfection.:)

Love the ebook strategy for getting started with “packaging your knowledge”!
It’s worth noting that whether you have loads or little writing experience, assistance is going to be necessary. Don’t attempt to go it alone with writing, editing, and publishing an ebook! Bringing a copyeditor onboard makes the process much less intimidating, too.

Yes, get a editor and proofreader as they will both keep you sane and your content tight and accurate.

    Hey Jeff,

Now this is a wealth of knowledge. Especially for those wise elders in our society to be involved with what’s going in our current times. I’ve had this idea for myself to writing a free ebook to a more detail version over it charging an amount of money with a premium version. I wonder if I can get my own parents into this? Thanks for sharing Jeff!

I saw a tweet that said [paraphrased], “Kids today don’t know what it’s like not to know the answer to anything. They just Google it. Is that even right?”

My takeaway: Philosophical questions aside, everyone is going to the web for everything, and this can only be lucrative for web writers like myself. Content marketing is going to be more important than ever. People who can harness their own expertise on anything at all and package it right can sell it and have the foundations of a business. I’ve been “writing” since before I could read. The web is the ultimate platform for me to market my experience and knowledge.

Excellent post-it generated a lot more than the usual round of “I agree.”
