How To Invite Your Friends to Google+ Using Twitter

If there is one thing that has brought the masses to use the web it has been the explosive growth of easy to use social networking sites starting with MySpace, with Facebook and Twitter following closely behind. How To Invite Your Friends to Google+ Using Twitter

This has turned the older generations that were using the internet only for email into social networking power users, sharing videos and images with ease.

In fact with the explosion in smart phone usage it has even turned women into “Geeks” as they combine the love of a chat and sharing using technology on social media platforms (especially Facebook) that are embedded on their iPhones.

Now to ensure this doesn’t turn into a battle between the sexes the ladies are much better at social networks than men because they know how to listen, socialize and engage! In fact, like most men I have been accused of occasionally engaging in what I will call “selective hearing” (sometimes referred to as not listening).

Google+ Finally Makes Inviting Easy

When Google launched its new social networking platform Google+ with its intuitive and easy to use interface it made the technorati and geeks swoon. The problem was that it also made sending invitations to join the network limited and slow by only allowing invites to be sent one at a time by email.

Well they have been listening to the 25 million users on Google+ (this growth has occurred in less than one month) and have now added a link that you can tweet instead of sending clunky cumbersome emails.

Step One:

Click on the “Invite friends” button on the right hand column on your Google+ home page that is located in the same location as it normally was.

Step Two:

Shorten the link provided that is below the “Invite people by email” and send it out on Twitter with an appropriate headline message like “Special Limited Invitations to join me on Google+ http://ow.ly/5XfqW

(By the way you could also invite using a blog post..just click on the link above)

Google+ Invites Limited to 150 per User

Initially Google is limiting sign ups via this method to 150 per user.

It is good to see Google continuing to make using Google+ easy to use and make changes every day that continues to drive its growth.

A recent survey from Bloomberg is even predicting that within 12 months it may pass LinkedIn and Twitter!

Are you on Google+ or would you like to be?

Love the pup pic Jeff. Looks like one of my dogs, Lucy (schnoodle)

  • Jeff, I appreciate all your posts overall. You provide excellent value for readers and I thank you for that.

However, today’s post, third paragraph, “In fact with the explosion in smart phone usage it has even turned women into “Geeks” as they combine the love of of chat and gossip…” comes across as rather stereotypical to me. Love of chat and gossip?? Ouch, that hurts! Many women do not use social media for chat and gossip anymore than our male counterparts. We see possibilities for communicating in different ways for both business and personal growth.  Just my thoughts on a rainy Sunday afternoon.  🙂 And no, I’m not on Goggle+ yet. And yes, I’d like to be and am waiting for an invite.

    • Thanks for the comment. Offence was never intended and the phrase was meant more “tongue in cheek” than as a serious stereotypical casting of differences between the sexes.
As for an invite to join and connect on Google+ here is the link to do that 🙂

      • Hi Jeff, all is forgiven. Your revised wording and new paragraph are great. But be careful, some guys might think you are making stereotypical remarks about them now.  🙂
And thanks for the Goggle+ invite. That’s awesome! Another opportunity for me to listen, socialize and engage. See you there.

  • unfortunately now i in Asia (SG), and Google+ has not come in yet

anyone care to invite me? so I can experiment it? Thanks in advance!
